Why should I discover Berlin by bike?

By bike, you can experience our diverse city directly with its many center points and spare yourself some tiresome walks. We mainly use quiet and flat side roads, so you feel comfortable and safe on the road.  Almost half of our paths are through parks and along canals - you'll be surprised how green the German capital is. Competing and entertaining guides make your Berlin tour unforgettable.

Do I need to bring a bike?

No. We offer a variety of easy-running bikes at our starting point. Those are constantly checked and maintained by experienced mechanics. You can join with your own bike though.

Do I have to book in advance? And how long in advance?

Booking in advance is not a must, but highly recommended. The number of participants is limited and a prior booking helps us to organize the different tours. One or two days in advance will do. A booking is without obligation and free of charge. Reservation

Can I cancel my booking, e.g. in case of bad weather?

Bookings for daily tours can be cancelled at any time, all other tours 48 hours before the tour starts. Our full cancellation policy can be seen in the Terms and Conditions.

Basically, it very rarely occurs, that our tours have failed due to bad weather. Showers are usually short-lived, we can shelter for a moment or stop at a nice café. Additionally, the guide will provide rain ponchos.

If the bike tour can not take place (official weather warning), we can move the tour to another date or alternatively do a walking tour (umbrellas are available in sufficient numbers). Among other things, we need your mobile telephone number.

What about payment? Can I pay by card?

Tours can be paid in cash to the guide the day of the tour. Cards are not accepted. Private tours can also be paid per bank transfer in advance. Prices

Are there toilet breaks?

There are not so many public toilets in Berlin. Our guides know them all and stop there if it is neccessary.

How exhausting is a tour?

Much less tiring than a walking tour. With our smooth-running bikes, we can carry out the tour at a relaxing pace.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

No. Helmets are not a must, but they increase safety. Therefore, you can borrow one from our selection.

Are the tours suitable for kids?

The tours 1 and 3 are suitable for all ages. The other tours are not explicitly recommanded for little children, a participation is possible though. We have bikes in all possible sizes, as well as trailer-bikes and seats where children up to the age of 7 can take place. Please let us know in advance if you need one of those.

What kind of bikes you offer?

We offer a variety of bikes so that kids as well as basketball teams can ride with us (wheel-size between 20 and 28 inches). Our bicycle-fleet is checked and maintained regularly by a team of experienced mechanics. The average age of our bikes is one year. Take a closer look: Bike Hire

Do the bikes have a basket for my luggage?

Yes, they do. All the bigger items you can store safely in our office the time of your tour.

What does the name 'Free Berlin' stand for? The bike tours aren't free are they?!

Most of our tour guides have grown up in a divided Berlin and have witnessed the Cold War and the fall of the wall directly. Since then, Berlin has a worldwide reputation for being a tolerant, libertarian and free city. When we searched for a name we came up with 'Free Berlin', as it's simple, catchy and understandable for everyone.

When is your office open?

Generally we open daily from 9 am - 6 pm. An answering machine is activated during the lunch breaks and for calls which come in when we are closed. We have limited access from November till the end of February.

I've fallen in love with a Tourguide and would like to see him/her again. What should I do?

Our guides all look dazzling and are bursting with charm. It's only natural to fall head over heels with him or her. So, if you are single and interested in one of our tour guides, do not be shy and let us know! We will forward your request then discreetly to your guide. Our Team
